Bosh to be released from hospital soon
The Miami Heat, and the basketball community at large, got some positive news regarding All-Star forward Chris Bosh, who's progressing in his recovery from blood clots on his lung.
Bosh, who was ruled out for the remainder of the season Saturday, has been laid up in a South Florida hospital for the past several days, but is expected to be released soon, Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press reports.
"We don't know the exact date yet," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He's getting a little bit better."
Bosh was the second NBA player to be shut down this season due to blood clots on the lungs, following Brooklyn Nets forward Mirza Teletovic.
While Bosh's absence comes as a major blow to the Heat's briefly promising hopes for a playoff run, the frightening nature of his condition has many of his peers thinking about forces beyond basketball.
"It opens your eyes to something bigger and you have more appreciation of life every day," Bosh's teammate Dwyane Wade said. "Chris hasn't been outside since he went in. He just wants to go outside. Simple things we take for granted."
