VIDEO: Reggie Jackson vomits, wins in Pistons debut
Feeling nervous in your debut with a new team is entirely understandable. Reggie Jackson went a little beyond nervous on Sunday during his debut with the Detroit Pistons, with the butterflies in his stomach escaping in the first quarter.
Yes, that appears to be Jackson vomiting on the sideline nine minutes into his Pistons' career. Eat your heart out, Willie Beamen.
To that point, Jackson was 0-of-4 from the field, too, and it appeared his anxiety in a new home was getting the best of him.
He settled down from there, helping lift the Pistons to a 106-89 victory over the Washington Wizards, their second win in a row against an Eastern Conference playoff team since acquiring Jackson at the trade deadline Thursday. After the cold start, Jackson did his part, finishing with 17 points on 7-of-18 shooting and adding five rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes.
Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe led the way with big double-doubles, combining for 33 points and 31 rebounds, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 26 points and was somehow allowed to take 20 field goal attempts.
The Wizards continued to struggle on both ends of the floor and have now dropped three in a row and eight of their last 10. They shot 43.5 percent from the field and managed only six threes and 14 free throw attempts while struggling on their own glass.
Previous losses to the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers are a bit more forgivable, but Sunday's confirms that the Wizards aren't quite right. Things don't get any easier with the Wizards set to host the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
The win moves the Pistons to 23-33 on the season, a half-game out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
