Bulls' Hinrich out with illness Saturday

Well, so much for the Chicago Bulls getting the whole gang back together

After returning from turf toe for the first Bulls game after the All-Star break, point guard Kirk Hinrich has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Phoenix Suns due to an illness.

Hinrich had a solid showing in an ugly loss to the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, scoring seven points on three-of-four shooting in 17 minutes off the bench.

Without Hinrich in the mix, the Bulls will have to hope for a better showing from their other point guards, Derrick Rose and Aaron Brooks, who shot a combined 4-of-15 from the field and zero-of-five from deep on Friday.

Hinrich is averaging just 6.5 points per game on 36.9 percent shooting this season, but his perimeter defense and ability to slide between guard positions has been vital for the Bulls, who have defended 2.6 points per 100 possessions better with him on the floor.
