Beal still not ready to return from leg injury
Bradley Beal wasn't fully expected to play Friday night for the Washington Wizards against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and now he officially won't.
Beal will miss his fourth game in a row with a stress reaction in his right leg. The shooting guard missed the last three games before the All-Star break, and while it was hoped the nine-day layoff would provide ample recovery time, the Wizards are playing it safe.
This is the third straight season Beal has dealt with a stress injury in his right leg. In this case, though, his fibula is affected and it's not considered as serious as the previous injuries, according to J. Michael of CSN Washington.
Beal is shooting a career-high 42.3 percent from 3-point territory this season and scoring 15 points a game. The Wizards have been starting either Otto Porter or Garrett Temple in Beal's place.
