Report: Timberwolves to sign Lorenzo Brown for remainder of season

Bill Streicher / USA TODAY Sports

Ricky Rubio is finally healthy, but the Minnesota Timberwolves apparently like what they've seen from reserve point guard Lorenzo Brown, who they signed to a second 10-day contract earlier this month.

With that deal set to expire, the Timberwolves will reportedly sign Brown for the remainder of the season, according to RealGM. The deal will reportedly also include a team option for the 2015-16 season.

With Mo Williams having been shipped to the Charlotte Hornets, and the incoming Gary Neal presumed to be trade or buyout fodder, Brown will likely serve as a de facto third point guard behind Rubio and rookie Zach LaVine.

Over the course of his two 10-day deals, Brown appeared in five games, averaging 3.2 points and three assists in 19.6 minutes.
