Days after Gary Neal was traded from Charlotte to Minnesota, Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the veteran guard is garnering league-wide interest.
Wojnarowski, who adds that the East-leading Atlanta Hawks are among those interested, also notes that there haven't been any substantive talks regarding a buyout agreement with Minnesota.
Any serious interest in Neal from a contender would be somewhat surprising given the 30-year-old's performance this season, however. Neal is averaging 9.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting under 36 percent from the field, including a career-low 29 percent from 3-point range.
The hope might be that Neal is due for a positive regression, as he's a career 38 percent 3-point shooter. But he's also a shoot-first guard who often fails to make the right play and costs his team a ton on the defensive end.
Neal was included in the Hornets-Timberwolves swap that saw Mo Williams land in Charlotte on Tuesday.
