Mavericks' Harris left Monday night's game with left ankle injury, X-rays negative

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Mavericks have point guard problems.

Already without Rajon Rondo, who's out with facial fractures, Devin Harris left Monday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a left ankle injury after Nikola Pekovic came down on him while chasing a loose ball. Pekovic's a big boy, and it did not look pretty:

X-rays on Harris's ankle reportedly came back negative after the game.

The 31-year-old played 24 minutes Monday night, scoring seven points on 2-of-6 shooting, adding four assists and a board.

Monta Ellis and J.J. Barea took on most of the ballhandling duties for the Mavericks, and will be relied upon even more if Harris is out for any length of time. Rondo, meanwhile, is out at least two more games, but could play Saturday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
