John Wall playing through ankle issue, illness Monday

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

John Wall continues to be a warrior for the Washington Wizards.

Wall will play in his 180th consecutive regular season game Monday, despite dealing with a couple of minor issues. Wall has been playing through Achilles and ankle soreness for several games now and has also come down with a cold, but he'll suit up as the Wizards take on the Charlotte Hornets.

In 48 games, Wall is averaging 17.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, two steals and a league-best 10.2 assists, doing so at the most efficient rate of his career. It's little surprise that the Wizards are an obscene 16 points per-100 possessions better when he's on the floor, one of the most substantial impacts of any player in the league.

Even in an overtime loss on Saturday, Wall was heroic through his ailments. He scored 28 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing 12 assists and outplaying fellow Eastern Conference starting guard Kyle Lowry. Wall is the best point guard in the East right now, and his status is a big reason why the Wizards are eight-point favorites Monday.
