VIDEO: Nike unveils Kobe X, touts less-is-more design
If only a shoe could protect a rotator cuff.
With the Los Angeles Lakers superstar out for the season, Nike unveiled Kobe Bryant's tenth signature shoe Saturday, providing the first glimpses of the Kobe X:
Not only does the shoe have an awesome name thanks to being the tenth instalment in the series, it's a pretty clean look:

In a release on the shoe's official website, Nike touted a less-is-more design philosophy. Nike creative director Eric Avar said he worked closely with Bryant on the shoe, explaining their vision for the shoe as follows:
The Kobe signature line allows us to think bold with provocative concepts that spark conversation. Kobe’s tenth shoe is a super light, responsive and purposeful look at high performance, high design and high style. The work is exciting and the collective teamwork around the project is contagious.
The Kobe X 5 AM Flight, the initial colorway named for Bryant's August, 2013 high-dive, will be available online and in stores beginning on Feb. 7. Other colorways are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
