Hardwood Highlight of the Night: Williams and Johnson play two-man game

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

There's no way around it: nothing went right for the Toronto Raptors on Friday.

To be fair, the Raptors were pitted against a motivated Golden State Warriors squad fuming following a lopsided loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but that doesn't excuse a 113-89 point embarrassment.

Toronto simply couldn't get anything going on either end of the floor. The Raptors set a franchise low by shooting 1-for-19 in the first quarter, as the Warriors somehow built a 16-point lead while shooting just 36 percent.

Things only got worse as the game went on. The Raptors' bench cut into the lead in the second, only for the starters to cough it up in the third. That led to a mass benching as the game quickly spiraled out of control.

Bench players Lou Williams and Amir Johnson tried their best to curb the Warriors' onslaught. They tried their best and it ultimately didn't matter, but any port in a storm and all.

The play opens with Greivis Vasquez handling up top. Vasquez swings it to Johnson, who turns to spot Williams.

Johnson finds Williams and turns to set a flat screen on Warriors forward Harrison Barnes. With Johnson behind Barnes, Williams has the option of driving either left or right, as Johnson can set the screen either way without Barnes seeing the action unfold.

Williams ultimately decides to go right. Johnson's screen peels off Barnes as Williams is afforded a one-on-one opportunity to attack Draymond Green.

With Johnson also rolling to the basket, Green hesitates and gives Williams room to drive. The speedy Williams beats his man and scores two precious points.
