Grizzlies' Conley remains out with wrist sprain

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley is on the sidelines for Thursday's contest against the Denver Nuggets with a sprained wrist. 

It marks the second consecutive game Conley has missed after he injured his wrist against the Orlando Magic on Monday. 

Conley, averaging 17.4 points, 5.6 assists and shooting career bests from the field (45.6) and beyond the arc (41.9), also missed the cut for the All-Star Game. 

NBA All-Star reserves were announced Thursday night, and Conley was among the most prominent names left off the Western Conference team. There will, however, be an opening created with starter Kobe Bryant out for the season after undergoing shoulder surgery

Conley, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard and Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins are among the players expected to receive the most consideration to replace Bryant, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports
