Report: Wolves to add D-League point guard Lorenzo Brown

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves are intent on signing point guard Lorenzo Brown to a 10-day contract before Wednesday, according to ESPN's Marc Stein

Brown has been playing with the Detroit Pistons' D-League team in Grand Rapids. There had been some talk the big club might be interested following the loss of Brandon Jennings, but it appears the Wolves have beaten Detroit to the punch.

Brown, who was a second-round pick of the Timberwolves in 2013, was waived by Minnesota before playing 26 games with the Philadelphia 76ers last season. He appeared in pre-season action this year with the Pistons.

Ricky Rubio remains on the shelf for the Wolves, recovering from a severely sprained ankle. Rubio has missed 11 weeks and his return is not imminent.
