The Toronto Raptors keep finding new ways to embarrass themselves.
Fresh off a 113-89 drubbing at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, the Raptors headed to Madison Square Garden to tackle the league-worst New York Knicks.
But there was no retribution to be found.
The Raptors' ice-cold offense remained dormant as the Knicks put up a commendable effort. New York also got some key contributions from guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (22 points) and Andrea Bargnani (19 points) in the 103-98 win.
Here's what you need to know.
- Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry did not play as the Raptors afforded him a rest-day.
- Raptors forward Amir Johnson threw down a nice one-handed jam early on. He found himself in foul trouble as the game went on and the Raptors' defense fell apart.
- Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan struggled once more, finishing with 13 points on 3-of-15 shooting. This was one of his misses.
- Knicks forward Lou Amundson only scored nine points, but his energy and hustle during a key stretch during the fourth quarter helped New York build a double-digit lead they would not relinquish.
- Knicks guard Langston Galloway was quiet for much for the night, but came up with a dagger to sink the Raptors.
- The loss drops Toronto into a tie for second in the East behind the Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls. The red-hot Cleveland Cavaliers are only a half-game behind.
- Plays like the following exemplified Toronto's night:
