Rondo out for Mavericks with sore Achilles

Dallas Mavericks point guard Rajon Rondo will not play Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets. Coach Rick Carlisle told media that Rondo is dealing with a sore left Achilles tendon.
Perhaps more concerning was Carlisle's statement that Rondo has been hurting for some time. His play of late hasn't been spectacular; he's had two games of sub-10 percent shooting in the Mavs' last four contests, but is still dishing out almost 10 assists per game.
Wednesday will mark the first game he's missed since becoming a Maverick on Dec. 18.
