VIDEO: Andrew Wiggins carves through Kings for emphatic jam

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Andrew Wiggins had the best half of his young NBA career on Thursday, picking apart the Sacramento Kings for 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting in just 22 minutes.

The four rebounds, two assists and two steals were all cool, too, but it was two points in particular that stood out for the Minnesota Timberwolves rookie.

Early in the second quarter, the 19-year-old began to drive from the left side on Derrick Williams, bursting through a shading second defender and blowing by Williams for an emphatic one-handed jam. Williams never had a chance of keeping Wiggins in front of him, and a pair of help defenders missed a chance to lend a hand, though Wiggins was likely on his way to a bucket regardless.

It's these kind of plays that make Wiggins so enticing as a prospect. Already a solid defender, the offense appears to be coming, and athletic drive-bys like this are very encouraging.
