Bradley Beal dealing with a toe sprain

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Bradley Beal looked a little off on Tuesday in the Washington Wizards' blowout loss to the Dallas Mavericks, and it appears it wasn't just a cold night from the floor.

Beal was said to be limping badly after the game, and he sat out practice Thursday due to a sprained toe. While the injury may be minor, it's surely frustrating for the third-year shooting guard, who has struggled to stay on the floor consistently throughout his career.

In 22 games, Beal is averaging 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, three assists and 1.6 steals, shooting 42.6 percent from a floor and a ridiculous 45.6 percent from long range. There may not be a stroke more pure than Beal's, but the other parts of his offensive game have stagnated some in what was expected to be a breakout season.

That's not to say Beal hasn't been good, as the Wizards are 6.1 points per-100 possessions better when he's on the floor than when he's off of it. When he shares the floor with John Wall, the Wizards are basically impossible to keep up with, outscoring opponents by 9.2 points per-100 possessions.

If Beal can't play Friday, the Wizards could be in tough against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Wizards did not provide an official designation for Beal, and they may opt to keep his status quiet until after shootaround Friday.
