Clippers' Rivers: 'We're very close to going on an amazing run'
Despite losing five of their last eight contests, Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers is rather bullish on his team's future.
"I think we’re very close to going on an amazing run," Rivers told Arash Markazi of ESPN. "I can feel it, and I can see it. We’re just not pulling them out right now. You just keep building."
Rivers' comments came on the heels of the Clippers' narrow loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday.
The issue with the Clippers is on the defensive end, but that's not much of a concern for Rivers.
"I just think we’re playing well," Rivers said. "I think we’re very close. We’re clearly scoring the ball. I think we have to fix some things defensively which are very fixable, and we’re going to go on a run."
The Clippers currently sit sixth in the West with a 19-10 record. As Rivers alluded to, they're playing well offensively as they boast the league's third-best offense. But L.A.'s defense lags well behind, ranking 19th in defensive efficiency.
