The Los Angeles Lakers may be without the NBA's third all-time leader scoring for a few games.

Following the Lakers 108-101 loss to the Sacramento Kings Sunday, Kobe Bryant told Yahoo Sports he may take some time off to rest his body.

"I don't have much of a choice if the body is feeling the way it's feeling right now. You got to be smart. You got to make sure you get enough return on your investment. With the amount of work that I do and put into my body and to get my body ready, for it to be sore as it is right now, sometimes you do have to consider sitting down."

Bryant, who was just 8-for-30 from the field Sunday, with a season-high nine turnovers, has played in all 27 games this season, and may be showing signs of fatigue.

"I'm trying to shoulder a lot," he said. "I'm trying to figure out the puzzle of my body and getting it to respond so I can come through."

Its unclear if Kobe will miss anytime, but it could be for the Christmas Day showdown against Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. The Lakers next game is Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors, then the Bulls Thursday and the Dallas Mavericks Friday.
