Lakers' Scott on Kevin Durant: 'I would love for him to play with Kobe too'

Mark D. Smith / USA Today Sports

Byron Scott and the Los Angeles Lakers may be getting a call from the NBA in the near future.

After Kevin Durant said earlier this week that he would want to play with a player like Kobe Bryant - while calling reports that players don't want to play with Kobe "BS" - Scott threw his support behind a Durant-Bryant pairing with comments on Friday.

The issue, of course, is that Durant is under contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder through the end of the 2015-16 season.

If the league does take action against Scott and the Lakers, it wouldn't be the first time Durant's 2016 free agency has caused some trouble. The Toronto Raptors were fined $25,000 in August after hip hop superstar Drake - the team's Global Ambassador - asked a Toronto concert crowd how it would react if Durant played for the Raptors.
