NBA issues flop warnings to Varejao, Johnson, Green

The NBA continued its war on flopping this week, issuing three separate warnings to big men for flopping.

Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao was the first to get warned, receiving a stern look for his actions against the Brooklyn Nets in a game on Monday. On the play in question, the Brazilian exaggerated a push from Kevin Garnett meant to establish post position, flailing his arms at the point of contact and rendering himself well out of position as a result.

Toronto Raptors power forward Amir Johnson was the next to get slapped on the wrist, also receiving a warning for a Monday action. Facing the Denver Nuggets, Johnson embellished a bump from Darrell Arthur as he fought for position, landing hard on his right hip for karmic punishment.

Finally, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been warned for his actions in a Wednesday game against the Houston Rockets. On a first quarter play, Green hit the deck after taking a slight shoulder bump from James Harden when waiting for an offensive rebound.

None of the three players have ever been fined for flopping, but that will be their fate if their caught again. After an initial warning, every subsequent flopping violation results in a fine, starting at $5,000.
