Steph Curry had precautionary X-rays on tweaked left ankle Sunday

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

No matter how precautionary, any X-ray relating to the ankles of Steph Curry is going to have Golden State Warriors fans sweating.

So sweat away, Warriors fans, because Curry underwent a precautionary X-ray on his left ankle following Sunday's game. Curry is said to have tweaked the ankle during the team's 104-93 victory over the Detroit Pistons, though he was able to play 28 minutes.

X-rays came back negative, and Curry said that he's had enough ankle tweaks to know that he's fine in this instance. That's the concern, though, that Curry has had enough ankle tweaks to know. He has a long history of ankle issues, and even though he's played 78 games in each of the last two seasons, the Warriors will probably be cautious.

The team is off until Tuesday and has at least one off day between every game for the next two weeks. The schedule isn't arduous, in other words, and they should be able to get Curry ample rest if they choose not to sit him down on Tuesday against Orlando.

With his 16 points and 10 assists on Sunday, Curry is now averaging 23.8 points and 7.8 assists while shooting .496/.418/.923. While the 14-2 Warriors are firing on all cylinders, any Curry absence would obviously loom large.
