Lakers likely to make changes to starting lineup soon

Kobe Bryant to the bench!

Okay, that's probably not what Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott was talking about on Sunday when he said that he'll likely be making changes to the starting lineup sometime soon.

Looking for answers amid a 3-13 start, Scott strongly suggested lineup changes are coming sometime after Sunday's game against the Toronto Raptors.

"I'm pretty sure I will," Scott said. "Eventually, yes I will."

Scott declined to provide specifics, but it would seem only Bryant's spot in the lineup is completely secure. The team has used the exact same starting lineup in 15 of their 16 games, with Bryant starting alongside Jeremy Lin, Wesley Johnson, Carlos Boozer and Jordan Hill.

The Lakers don't exactly have a fantastic bench, but considering how bad their starters have played, it's more about finding their best five-man unit than just their best five players. Boozer, in particular, has started out poorly while his backup, Ed Davis, has been off to a fine start to the season. Lin, too, has struggled and the low-usage Ronnie Price may be a better fit alongside Bryant.

Whatever the change, it's worth shuffling the deck for Scott as the team searches for some sort of spark to get them back on track.
