Kings' Gay out vs. Pelicans with Achilles tendinitis

Kelley L Cox / USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings will have to take on Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans without one of their top players tonight.

Rudy Gay will be out for Tuesday's game in New Orleans as he continues to battle right Achilles tendinitis, the Kings have announced. Gay had played through the injury for the last three games.

The Kings forward has averaged 21.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists through 13 games to start the season.

Omri Casspi, Nik Stauskas and perhaps Derrick Williams could see extra floor time with Gay sidelined.
