Los Angeles Clippers (7-4) at Memphis Grizzlies (11-2), 6 p.m. (ET)
(SportsNetwork.com) - Two of the NBA's best battle on Sunday evening at FedExForum when the Los Angeles Clippers pay a visit to the team atop the Western Conference standings, the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies picked up their 11th win of the season on Friday night with a 117-100 home victory over the Boston Celtics. That victory came after their second loss of the season when they couldn't overcome a stomach bug that left nine healthy players in a road tilt against the Toronto Raptors.
The virus still left some Grizzlies unable to play against the Celtics. Tony Allen and Quincy Pondexter missed the Boston game, but the Grizzlies never trailed en route to their 21st straight victory at FedExForum in the regular season.
Marc Gasol led the way with 32 points, Zach Randolph donated 16 points and 16 rebounds, and Jon Leuer poured in 19 points off the bench in the victory.
Mike Conley totaled 15 points and eight assists for the Grizzlies, who won the rebounding battle 50-38 and outscored the Celtics in the paint by a 66-38 margin.
Most of the sick were back in uniform Friday, but that doesn't mean the team is out of the woods.
"We still don't know who is going to be ready for Sunday. We need some fluids in these guys to get ready," Grizzlies head coach David Joerger said, referring to the matchup against the Clippers.
The Grizzlies hit the road, starting Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers. They'll visit the Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets on the trek.
The Clippers are in the midst of a seven-game eastern trip and are 2-0 thus far. LA beat the Orlando Magic by 24 on Wednesday, then squashed the Miami Heat, 110-93, on Thursday.
Chris Paul and Blake Griffin each deposited 26 points to lead the Clippers versus the four-time reigning Eastern Conference champions. Paul dished out 12 assists to just one turnover and Griffin pulled down seven rebounds with four assists for the Clippers.
"I think we're doing what we're supposed to," said Paul. "The biggest thing for us is defending. I'm forcing us to play a little bit faster."
JJ Redick scored 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range and DeAndre Jordan registered 12 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Los Angeles hadn't won in Miami since March 10, 2008, snapping a five-game skid.
Los Angeles shot a blistering 68 percent (17-of-25) from the floor over the first 12 minutes -- including 62.5 percent (5-for-8) from deep -- and committed just one turnover, taking a 39-15 lead into the second.
The Clippers shot 43-for-77 (55.8 percent) for the game and held Miami to 30- of-67 (44.8 percent) shooting. LA had a 44-26 edge in the paint and outrebounded the Heat 35-30.
The Clippers will play the Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz on their long trip.
The Grizzlies took two of three from the Clippers last season. These two teams met in the first round of the playoffs in 2012 and 2013 with each team taking a series.
The Clippers have won three of their last four regular-season trips to Beale Street.
