Bryant reaches 32,000 points as Lakers edge Hawks

There hasn't been much for Lakers fans to cheer about in Los Angeles so far this season, but Kobe Bryant gave fans in Atlanta something to get excited about Tuesday.

In a road game that seemed to have more Lakers fans on hand than Hawks fans, with Philips Arena often erupting into chants of "Ko-be, Ko-be," Bryant scored 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting to lead the Lakers to their second win of the season.

With his last basket of the game, Bryant also reached another milestone, becoming just the fourth player in NBA history to score 32,000 career points.

Bryant, who added four rebounds, three assists and a steal in the 114-109 victory over the Hawks, is now only 291 points behind Michael Jordan for third on the all-time scoring list.

Bryant's performance in the win wasn't the only thing worth celebrating for Lakers fans, as Nick Young also made his season debut after missing time with a torn thumb ligament.

Young finished with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
