Mark Cuban on Lakers: 'I just hope they suck forever'

Matthew Emmons / USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most popular and historically successful sports teams in the world, but that success comes with an almost equal amount of hate.

It's no wonder, then, that many fans outside Los Angeles are thoroughly enjoying the Lakers' current sorry state of affairs.

And you can add Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to that list.

In a radio interview with The Beast 980's Fred Roggin Show, the always outspoken Cuban made his hopes for the Lakers' future known.

"As far as the Lakers go, I think there are going to be a lot of teams that are saying, 'I’ve got a ton of cap room,' and signing three big free agents to come play for them. Los Angeles has always been considered a destination city, so maybe they feel that’s a valid strategy," Cuban said of the Lakers, who have a ton of cap space in the coming years.

"You know me, Fred. Personally, I just hope they suck forever," Cuban added.
