Kawhi Leonard required 5 stitches for cut in win over Lakers

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Kawhi Leonard required five stitches by his left eyebrow after getting hit by Kobe Bryant in the fourth quarter of Friday's win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Leonard, who has been bothered by an eye infection, was medically cleared to return but didn't re-enter the game after exiting early in the fourth. The Spurs didn't need him, either.

San Antonio dropped Los Angeles 93-80 to send the Lakers to their worst start in franchise history.

The Spurs had five players score in double figures, including Leonard, who had 12 points and added five rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the victory.
