Steph Curry's 75-game 3-point streak comes to an end
Kyle Korver can rest easy for at least another 127 games.
The biggest threat to Korver's record for consecutive games with a 3-point field goal was shut down on Tuesday, as Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry was held without a triple against the San Antonio Spurs. Curry went 0-of-7 from deep in the loss, marking the first time he's gone without a three in a game since Nov. 16, 2013.
That ends Curry's streak of consecutive games with a triple at 75, well short of Korver's 127. Korver broke Dana Barros' record of 89 straight games on Dec. 6 last season, ultimately rolling to 127 games before being held off the board on March 5.
Curry's streak represents the fifth-longest such streak in NBA history.
Years | Player | Games |
---|---|---|
2012-14 | Kyle Korver | 127 |
1994-96 | Dana Barros | 89 |
1988-89 | Michael Adams | 79 |
1995-96 | Dennis Scott | 78 |
2013-14 | Steph Curry | 75 |
While Korver's in the clear for now, Curry definitely looms as a threat to his record at some point again in the future. Curry has averaged 2.7 made threes per game for his career and has hit at a 43.8 percent clip, making him one of the only other active players with the mix of volume and efficacy to chase such a mark.
