Victor Oladipo out indefinitely after suffering facial fracture

The Orlando Magic will likely be without sophomore point guard Victor Oladipo to start the season, as he is out indefinitely after suffering a facial fracture during practice.

Oladipo received an accidental elbow during practice on Thursday, and will undergo surgery on Saturday, according to a statement by the team.

Oladipo was the runner up for Rookie of the Year last season and one of the few bright spots on the Magic's roster. Oladipo averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists last season, operating mostly as a combo guard with strong defensive skills.

Without Oladipo, look for the Magic to start either rookie point guard Elfrid Payton or veteran Luke Ridnour at point. Shooting guard Evan Fournier could also conceivably shoulder a portion of playmaking duties as well.
