Stuckey could find himself in a similar role to that of Lance Stephenson in the 2013-14 season, Candace Buckner of the Indianapolis Star reports.

Analysis:

Stuckey is already the early favorite to start at shooting guard for the Pacers, but this recent development suggests he'll stay on the court to be the primary ball handler with the team's second unit. This was exactly the role of Lance Stephenson in 2013-14, who ended up averaging more assists per game (4.6) than starting point guard George Hill. Coach Frank Vogel plans to use a deeper rotation this season that could feature up to 10 players, so this may eventually cut into Stuckey's minutes, but at least he'll be given the opportunity to see a heavy workload out of the gates.
