Report: Timberwolves have talked to Suns about Bledsoe

The Eric Bledsoe saga continues in Phoenix, as the restricted free agent seeks a maximum contract while the Suns prefer a lower dollar figure.

Bledsoe could go the same route as Greg Monroe, who signed a one-year qualifying offer earlier this summer that will keep him in Detroit for one more year and will put him at risk of losing a ton of guaranteed money, but will also result in Monroe becoming an unrestricted free agent next summer.

In the mean time, while Bledsoe and the Suns continue their stalemate, nothing is stopping other teams from trying to engage the Suns in sign-and-trade talks, albeit likely in vain.

According to Darren Wolfson of 1500ESPN.com, you can add the Timberwolves to the list of teams who at least considered that.

The T-Wolves are trying to work out an extension of their own with point guard Ricky Rubio, who will become a restricted free agent next summer if the team doesn't lock him up to an extension before the October 31 deadline.

One potential snafu with any talks between the Suns and T-Wolves is that Minnesota probably wouldn't want to part with any of the young players Phoenix would want in return, and that Bledsoe would still have to agree to the contract that sends him to Minnesota in a trade.
