Nick Young making Lakers rookie Jordan Clarkson call him 'Daddy Swag'
Los Angeles Lakers forward/guard Nick Young has had a pretty eventful offseason: trick shots with girlfriend Iggy Azalea, trying his hand at modeling, getting fresh ink, Pop-A-Shot with the son, balling with strangers, and playing softball.
It seems like it's been some good time off.
Now, though, with training camp just two weeks away, it's all about business. Swaggy P's first order of business? Forcing the Los Angeles Lakers rookies to call him "Daddy Swag."
Here's Young explaining to NBA.com:
Well the rooks know. Y'all gotta ask them what they gotta call me all year. When you talk to them next time, ask Jordan (Clarkson) what he calls me every morning, and ask Julius (Randle) what he calls me every morning.
...
It's got a little Swag in it.
Clarkson, the team's second round pick out of Missouri, wasn't playing along at first but eventually caved to the name.
"We call him Scrappy Feet," Clarkson said. "Ugly feet. Naw, he told me to call him Daddy Swag...that's a rookie duty so I'll make sure I get it done."
No. 7 overall pick Randle was less willing to admit what he has to call Young, however.
"I had something different," Randle said. "Do I gotta say it?"
Randle then clowned around by mumbling the name multiple times, leaving it unclear what he's actually supposed to call his elder.
