Hawks owner to sell team: Dominique Wilkins reportedly interested
Atlanta Hawks owner Bruce Levenson has said he will sell his stake in the team following a self-reported email that contained offensive analysis of the fanbase. As the process of the sale begins to play out, the rumor mill for potential replacement owners has begun to fire up as well.
Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins is reportedly among those interested in becoming the next owner of the team, and has already been pre-approved by the NBA, according to TMZ Sports.
According to the report, Wilkins has partnered with a "very well-known businessman" who believes Wilkins is the ideal fit to lead the team into the future.
The NBA Hall of Fame forward played 12 seasons with the Hawks and was named to nine consecutive All-Star teams between 1985 and 1994.
