Pelicans' Ryan Anderson cleared for contact 8 months after neck injury
Troy Taormina / USA Today Sports
New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson announced he has been medically cleared for contact on Wednesday.
Anderson made the announcement via Twitter and shared a photo of his surgically repaired neck on Instagram. The 26-year-old suffered a herniated disc in a game against the Boston Celtics eight months ago and underwent surgery in April.
The medical clearance means Anderson will be available when the Pelicans' training camp gets underway in three weeks.
Injuries limited Anderson to 22 appearances last season.
