It's shaping up to be quite the crowded backcourt in Minnesota next season.

Mo Williams joins fellow guards Ricky Rubio, J.J. Barea, Alexey Shved, and rookie Zach LaVine on the Timberwolves' depth chart.

Williams is a savvy veteran and though he's not much more than a competent back-up guard at this point, the 31-year-old at least brings experience to a youthful backcourt.

As a member of the Portland Trail Blazers last season, Williams averaged 9.7 points and 4.3 assists per game as a back-up for Damian Lillard. If granted similar responsibilities in Minnesota, Williams seems likely to replicate those figures.

The sharp-shooting guard remains a solid 3-point shooter, having connected on 36.9 percent of his tries from beyond the arc last season. That, at the very least, stands to benefit a Timberwolves team that ranked 26th in the league in 3-point percentage.
