Felton pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm Wednesday but will avoid jail time, ESPN Dallas reports.

Analysis:

Rather than jail time, Felton was sentenced to 500 hours of community service and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine. Though the case took place in New York, Felton - now a member of the Mavericks - will be allowed to complete his service hours outside of New York. With the issue now behind him, Felton will focus on repairing his reputation, both on and off the court, after a forgettable 2013-14 season with the Knicks.
