Mavericks announce re-signing of Devin Harris

As soon as free agency opened on July 1, the first face-to-face meeting that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban held was with the team's own Devin Harris. Almost three weeks later, Harris' re-signing is now officially complete.

According to ESPN, Harris and the Mavericks have agreed to a four-year, $16.55-million deal, with the fourth season being partially guaranteed for just $1.3 million.
After undergoing offseason surgery last summer to repair the big toe on his left foot, Harris' return to action was delayed until mid-January. Once he was back on the court, he finished 2013-14 with averages of 7.9 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in the role of backup point guard to Jose Calderon.
With Calderon now on the New York Knicks following a six-player trade, Harris could be inserted into the Mavericks' starting lineup, or resume his backup role behind Raymond Felton.
