Wolves owner: 'We are not going to move Kevin Love without getting equal or more value back'

Kevin Love might not be going anywhere before he's able to opt out of his contract next July. Not without sizeable assets in return, according to Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor.

At a Las Vegas summer league game Wednesday, Taylor told NBA TV he wants Love to play for his team and make a playoff push in the West this season.

"I think our team is just on the border," Taylor said. "We lost too many close games last year, and having Kevin Love there as, right now, the heart of our team ... I would like to have Kevin back and play under Flip (Saunders) and see how the coaches will utilize him with the other players."

Even though Love can't escape trade talks - the Golden State Warriors reportedly re-opened discussions with the Wolves this week - Taylor appears to be keeping his All-Star close, at least in talks with the media.

"My response is that we are going to look at everything that makes sense that would make our team better," Taylor told NBA TV via The Pioneer Press, "but we are not going to move a superb player like that without getting equal or more value back."
