Report: League's worst mascot, The Brooklyn Knight, to be put to rest
The best news of the NBA offseason is finally upon us.
It's not LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony or even Pau Gasol news. It's mascot news, and it's terrific.
Actual news: Nets have informed their mascot he will not return next season, may place Brooklyn Knight character on hiatus...or worse.

To be clear: this is not about the person who plays the mascot. Hearing this is about dissatisfaction with the Knight character.

The Brooklyn Knight is, without question, the worst mascot in the NBA. Originally meant to evoke a comic book hero who "defends the borough," the Knight instead looked like a rejected Tinman costume merged with a Medieval Times character.
Not only was the design poor, the execution included several gaffes. One would guess the mascot wasn't exactly helping to move merchandise or, you know, not terrify-slash-bore children. He's gone now, and the Nets would be well served to switch to something more traditional, and at least moderately entertaining.
