Report: Trail Blazers meet with free-agent Spencer Hawes
The free-agent market for impact centers is a thin one, so the Portland Trail Blazers are wasting no time trying to land one of the big catches:

Wojnarowski goes on to say that, while Hawes appears to be a strong fit given his ties to the Pacific Northwest (he lives in Seattle), the Cleveland Cavaliers are said to be interested in retaining his services, while the Los Angeles Clippers may not be willing to meet his salary demands.
Hearing Spencer Hawes may be too expensive for Clippers, Seeking $8 million per, made $6.5 million last season

Hawes, 26, averaged 13.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 80 games split between Philadelphia and Cleveland. The 7-foot-1 Washington alum will be entering his eighth NBA season.
