The San Antonio Spurs selected UCLA forward Kyle Anderson with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft on Thursday night.

One of the most intriguing talents in the draft, Anderson was a polarizing prospect leading up to the draft. He is immensely skilled, a fine creator, and a deft passer with great court vision, but his skills are generally best leveraged with the ball in his hands. San Antonio needs to commit to letting him create on offense rather than trying to shoehorn him in as a traditional three or four.

Defensively, Anderson is going to have issues, though he measured big enough that he could conceivably check power forwards if he gets some gym time in. But again, there's little point discussing how to work around him defensively if the team isn't going to let him be himself on offense. If they do, Anderson could be a steal.

Anderson certainly needs some work at the defensive end, but boy is he going to be a great fit in the Spurs' offense. He's a big body whose versatile, can score, and distributes the ball effectively. It's a match made in heaven.
