Report: Bulls offering Gibson, Snell, and 2 1sts for Love, Warriors deal was near 'finish line'

Derrick Rose may be getting his wish after all, as it sounds like the Chicago Bulls have come correct with an appreciable offer to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love.

The Bulls have offered up excellent two-way power forward Taj Gibson, prospect Tony Snell and both of their first-round picks in the 2014 draft, Nos. 16 and 19, for Love, according to a report from ESPN.

That offer holds up well with earlier reports of an offer from the Boston Celtics (Nos. 6 and 17, a future 1st and Kelly Olynyk and/or Jared Sullinger) and the Golden State Warriors (David Lee, Klay Thompson and a first, or some other machination depending on the source).

Meanwhile, the Bulls were nearly too late, as the report also indicates that a Love-Thompson centered deal was "near the finish line" before stalling late in the process.

The Wolves continue to seek contributors that can help now, even though their roster without Love begs for a complete rebuild. The Bulls package seems to be the best of both worlds, affording the Wolves a present-day asset in Gibson and three picks in the top-20 of a loaded draft to piece around Gibson, Ricky Rubio and Gorgui Dieng.

In any case, it no longer sounds like many are expecting a deal ahead of the draft on Thursday.
