Andrew Bynum wants to return to the Lakers

If you thought the end of Andrew Bynum's tenure with the Indiana Pacers was the end of his "where will he go?" drama, apparently you were wrong.

TMZ caught up with the big man recently and asked him where he may play in the future, and Bynum, quite shockingly, said the Los Angeles Lakers would be his primary choice. He lives in L.A., and said he'd prefer the Lakers to the Clippers.

Now, Bynum's recent history is spotty, at best, and disastrous at its hyperbolic worst. He was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and was never healthy enough to play, then signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers but was such a distraction that he was waived. He landed with the Indiana Pacers but reportedly ruffled feathers and appeared in only two games.

So why would anyone possibly be interested? Because Bynum happens to be 7-feet tall and he's still just 26 years old. And while it seems a long time ago, he was excellent as recently as 2011-12, when he averaged 18.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks for the Lakers.

Would the forum blue and gold roll the dice that the presence of Kobe Bryant and a return to the team that drafted him could get the most out of Bynum? For a veteran minimum contract on a team that will likely need several players to fill out their roster, there are worse gambles to take. Just don't hold your breath on a return to All-Star form.
