The fallout from the Donald Sterling situation is rippling throughout the league, and will continue to affect the Clippers organization in a number of ways.

In an interview with a "prominent NBA player agent", Sean Deveney of The Sporting News quoted the agent as saying:

But I know I have players who just won’t go there now, not until Sterling is gone completely. If there is even a chance that you’re going to help that guy make even one dime, a lot of guys are not going to go play there. It is going to be something they will have to deal with when July comes around.

I can tell you that there are players who will cross them off the list before free agency even starts. This was really personal for some guys, and I mean guys who are not Clippers or never been Clippers.

Another agent, who also requested anonymity, stated:

There’s the chance, though. There’s a chance you wind up working for Sterling. That’s the problem. And there is also a feeling like, ‘Hey, the league let this guy do his thing for 30 years and they’re only doing something about him now? Why would I go there?

If the agents' words are true, the Clippers will face a unique problem with player acquisition, especially in free agency. The problem is further complicated in the event of a trade, or the draft, where players could potentially refuse to suit up for the Clippers.

Free agency opens up on July 1st, which leaves approximately six weeks for the NBA to dissolve the ownership of the Sterlings - both Donald's and his wife Shelly's.

The agents' sentiments were echoed by Heat forward LeBron James, who publicly stated on Sunday, "as players, we want what's right and we don't feel like no one in his family should be able to own the team."
