Jason Kidd fined $25,000 for criticism of officials

David Richard / USA TODAY Sports

NBA officials made Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd's wallet a little lighter thanks to his comments on a conference call Thursday afternoon.

He was officially fined $25,000 on Friday afternoon.

Kidd called the lack of calls Joe Johnson received in Game 5 "kind of mind-boggling", and suggested that his team should consider flopping if that's what it took to get whistles.

The fine adds up to a fairly expensive first season on the bench for Kidd in Brooklyn.
