Lamar Odom leaving Spain after 2 games due to back injury

Lamar Odom's time as a professional basketball player abroad has come to an end, at least for the time being.

On Feb. 18, Spanish club Laboral Kutxa Baskonia signed Odom to a two-month contract and the two-time NBA champion appeared in a pair of games, scoring two points over 22 total minutes.

However, on Friday ESPN reported that Odom will miss at least a month due to a "persistent back issue." As a result, Odom will return to the United States for evaluation and treatment.

It is presently unclear if Odom will recover in time to return to LKB before the end of the two-month contract, which contains a team option for the remainder of the season that could extend the deal to four months.

Odom is expected to attempt an NBA comeback for the 2014-15 season.
