VIDEO: A chubby Baron Davis is on a hilarious comeback trail
Baron Davis last appeared in an NBA game nearly two full years ago, on May 6, 2012. It was a playoff game, and Boom Dizzle scored two points in 25 minutes to help the New York Knicks beat the Miami Heat and avoid the opening-round sweep.
In that game, Davis had to be carted off the floor, having torn his right ACL and MCL and partially tearing his right patellar tendon. His right knee was in pieces, basically.
Then 33 years old, the rehabilitation looked daunting, the comeback trail impossible. And so the basketball world hasn't heard much from B-Diddy since.
Until Thursday, when a TNT special revealed that Davis is on the comeback trail. The highlights:
- Davis traveled to Vancouver to work out with Steve Nash and was surprised Nash was nearly as good as Davis.
- While he's gained weight, he's "not Charles Barkley fat," he's "Shaq fat," a more useful form of bulk.
- He either wants a spot on the Lakers or Kenny Smith's job.
- He still dresses well, rocking an UndrCrwn shirt, Arsenal jacket and homeless-man toque.
Here's the full feature from the broadcast. Miss you, Baron.
