Kyrie Irving: Ohio State's Aaron Craft an NBA talent

This summer, Ohio State guard Aaron Craft worked out with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving as part of Nike's Point Guard Skills Academy.

The fourth-year player impressed Irving, leaving the former Rookie of the Year convinced he'll be playing against Craft again some day, in the NBA:

“Oh yeah. I believe so. He’s a leader, he’s a tough defender, he’s been working on his offensive game. I’m interested to see the things that he’s learned from the camp and the things that he’s accomplished this summer in terms of his game and see the difference between his junior and senior year. He did well against the other campers. He played me tough and I know he learned a lot at the camp.”

In his junior season last year, Craft averaged 10 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists. More importantly, he might be the best perimeter defender in college basketball. Whether or not his skills can translate to the NBA is a matter of some debate, however.

Craft is currently projected as a mid-second round pick by Draft Express, while ESPN has him ranked as just the 84th best prospect for the 2014 draft.
