Warriors hoped for Clippers in 2nd round: 'There's no nightlife in Utah'

If there's one thing the Golden State Warriors expect to attain in their upcoming series with the Utah Jazz, it's a good night's sleep.

Several Warriors players appeared to root for the Clippers in Los Angeles' first-round matchup with the Jazz, believing they won't have a whole lot to do when they travel to Utah.

"There's no nightlife in Utah," Warriors forward Matt Barnes told ESPN's Chris Haynes. "Obviously as players, you want to be able to have a little bit of a nightlife but the main focus is winning games. Me personally, I want to get out there because I want to beat the Clippers. That's my former team and my kids are out there. But as far as nightlife, there's no comparison to nightlife in Utah and L.A."

"I'm sure it's probably clubs, but I've never been to one in Utah," Kevin Durant said. "It's a few restaurants close to the hotel, but you're not scattered out. L.A. is just bigger. That's the only difference. But preparation wise, my approach is the same as in any other city."

Jazz small forward Joe Ingles would be willing to help show his opponents a good time during the series. He said he'll pay for a car if the Dubs want to visit Las Vegas in between contests, according to Jody Genessy of the Deseret News.

Short of accepting that offer, the Warriors likely won't have as much fun off the court. However, they do realize that the extra sleep could help them moving forward.

"The challenges in L.A. are obvious," Andre Iguodala said. "Before you know it, it's two or three o'clock in the morning and you didn't even realize it was that late because there's so much to do. You can do whatever. It doesn't even have to be anything that exerts energy as far as body movement, but mentally you can exert energy because you're interacting with different people. You're out, and then that could lead to trouble."

The two teams will kick off their matchup Tuesday at Oracle Arena.
