Watch: Pacers send Bird to NBA office in Indy car to submit 2021 ASG bid

The Indiana Pacers submitted their bid for the 2021 All-Star Game in style.

Team president Larry Bird drove a retrofitted Pacers-themed Indy car to the NBA office in New York City to deliver the application to commissioner Adam Silver.

"It means a lot that you came here and did this in person," Silver told the Hall of Famer, who then gifted his helmet to the commissioner.

Indianapolis hosted the event once before in 1985. Silver said in January he thinks it's "highly likely" the ASG will return to the city in 2020 or 2021.

Other teams reportedly interested in hosting the festivities during that span include the Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, and Houston Rockets. All-Star weekend is set to take place in Los Angeles next year.
